Meet Our Tiny Team!

Organizer

TOBI ELLIOTT
ORGANIZER & VISIONARY

Tobi wears many hats (when she can fit them over her dreds): community organizer and activist, documentary filmmaker, horse-momma and passionate advocate for sustainable development in her beloved community of Gabriola Island. She organized the first tiny house teaching course for Gabriola in 2016 because she saw the need for a new kind of housing solution for the island. She is dedicated to bringing tiny home education to other communities and keeping the conversation alive about how to live in balance with our resources.

Instructors

Kenton’s journey has lead him around the world including a year in Australia, across Canada, into the United States, and to Barbados where he helped found and launch a school for Permaculture.

JAKE & KIVA
TINY HOUSE DESIGNERS & SKETCHUP MAESTROS

Jake & Kiva are a Canadian couple living on Vancouver Island, B.C. The Tiny Nest Project started as a conversation in 2012 after watching a documentary on small/alternative living spaces. After a period of research, design, and money-saving, they moved to Kiva’s family farm in July of 2014, and began building. They now live in their tiny home with their dog Jackson, cat Ninja, and horses Boone & TC.

They designed the Tiny Nest from scratch, and used SketchUp to plan every inch of the structure, and created a SketchUp Tutorial (which is available HERE) as a way to share the knowledge that they gained. They also produce Interactive Virtual Tours of tiny homes, made from both real photos and 3D models. Have a look at their Virtual Lot.

We'd love to hear from you.

We are always interested in bringing a transformative tiny house workshop to new communities, so don’t hesitate to drop us a line if you think your town or district is ready to learn everything tiny!
